Authorities in Kansas City, Kansas, are investigating three separate homicide cases following a series of fatal incidents reported between Friday and Sunday.

According to the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department, officers responded to multiple scenes across the city as part of ongoing investigations into the deaths.

The first incident occurred Friday in the 2800 block of Parallel Avenue. Officers were dispatched following reports of a shooting and, upon arrival, found a victim who had died at the scene. Police later identified the individual as 15-year-old Zy’are Hamilton. Investigators say the case remains active, with efforts underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The second case unfolded Saturday evening shortly after 6:30 p.m. Officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of North Valley Avenue, where they found an unresponsive man inside the home. He was transported to a hospital but later died. Authorities identified him as 43-year-old Michael Myer. At the time, police noted they were speaking with a person of interest as part of the investigation.

The third incident was reported Sunday around 3 p.m. Officers were initially called to the 6300 block of Sandusky Avenue following reports of a shooting. During the course of the response, police located a man at a hospital with apparent injuries. He later died and was identified as 34-year-old James Thomas.

Police have not released further details regarding possible connections between the incidents. Each case remains under active investigation as authorities work to gather more information and determine what led to the events.
