Sudden Head-On Collision

Authorities have released new details identifying a woman who lost her life following a serious head-on collision earlier this week near a closed medical facility in Warren.

According to a crash report from the Warren Police Department, the victim has been identified as 32-year-old Jessica Mason-Greathouse of Niles. She was one of several people involved in the crash that occurred on Monday, April 27, near Insight Medical Center Trumbull along West Market Street.

Investigators say Mason-Greathouse was a passenger in a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Brandon Greathouse when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming car. The second vehicle was driven by a 28-year-old woman and had two young passengers inside—a seven-year-old child and a three-month-old infant.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported all individuals involved to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Despite medical efforts, Mason-Greathouse later died from her injuries at the hospital.

Authorities noted that the crash remains under investigation. Preliminary findings in the report indicate that the Cobalt crossed a double yellow line before the impact, leading to the head-on collision. Officials also stated that there was suspicion that the driver may have been impaired at the time of the crash, though no formal charges have been filed as of now.

Court records reviewed so far do not show any citations or criminal charges connected to the incident. Investigators are continuing to gather evidence, including toxicology results, witness statements, and vehicle data, to better understand the circumstances that led to the collision.

The condition of the other driver and passengers has not been fully detailed beyond confirmation of serious injuries.

Authorities have emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
