Authorities in Colorado Springs have confirmed the identities of two men who died in separate traffic-related incidents that occurred in March and April.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the first incident happened on March 19 near the intersection of Fountain Boulevard and Circle Drive. Officers responded to reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a person on a scooter who was crossing the roadway. The individual was transported to a nearby hospital but later died as a result of his injuries. He has been identified as 34-year-old Allen Brewer. Investigators say the case remains open, and no charges have been filed as inquiries continue.

The second incident occurred on April 12 and involved a single-vehicle crash. Authorities reported that a pickup truck left the roadway and collided with a rock barrier. Emergency responders transported the driver to hospital for treatment, but he later died. Police have identified the driver as 35-year-old Alex Dean. The department’s Major Crash Team handled the investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

Preliminary findings suggest that speed may have been a contributing factor in the April crash, though officials have not finalized their conclusions. Investigators continue to examine all available evidence to determine exactly what led to the vehicle leaving the roadway.

Officials also noted that traffic fatalities in the city have increased compared to the previous year. As of this year, there have been 14 traffic-related deaths in Colorado Springs, compared to seven at the same point in the previous year.

Authorities emphasized that both cases remain under review, and further updates will be provided as investigations progress and additional findings are confirmed.
