The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the community’s immediate help in locating 72-year-old Brent Hartley. Brent has been missing for two days, and his family is deeply concerned for his well-being.
The Disappearance
Brent was last seen at his home in Thousand Oaks around 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. According to his wife, he left the residence on foot and noticeably did not take his vehicle or his cellphone.
Because Brent suffers from dementia, depression, and a heart condition, his safe return is a matter of high priority. He may be disoriented and is likely in need of care.
Identifying Brent
Authorities have provided the following physical description to help the public recognize him:
- Physical Build: Caucasian male, standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 230 lbs.
- Last Seen Wearing: A blue t-shirt and khaki shorts.

Since Brent left without a phone and is on foot, we are asking all Thousand Oaks residents to check their doorbell cameras, backyards, and local parks. If you were near the area on Sunday evening or have seen someone matching his tall stature, please speak up.
