Deputies Seek Driver in Fatal Tangipahoa Parish Hit-and-Run.

Authorities in Tangipahoa Parish are asking for public assistance in locating a driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run that claimed the life of a local bicyclist.

The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, at the intersection of North Baptist Road and Sunset Acres, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said the victim, identified as 46-year-old Michael Ribando Jr., was first struck by one vehicle. That driver remained on the scene to report the incident. A second vehicle, traveling in the opposite direction, then hit the bicyclist again. That driver stopped briefly but left before deputies arrived.

Ribando was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries, authorities confirmed. Deputies are looking for the second vehicle, described as a light-colored sedan that was heading north on North Baptist Road and turned right onto Wardline Road.

Law enforcement is urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the vehicle or driver to contact the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division.

Authorities emphasize the importance of community cooperation in helping identify the driver and bring closure to the investigation. Residents are encouraged to provide any relevant information to assist deputies in advancing the case.
