The Ada County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who died after being struck while riding an electric scooter in Meridian late Saturday night.
According to officials, deputies responded to West Ustick Road between NW 3rd Street and North Venable Avenue around 3:08 a.m. on Sunday, March 1. Fifty-six-year-old Jairo Blanco Villamizar was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency personnel were unable to revive him.
The incident involved multiple vehicles, though specific details about the circumstances remain under investigation. The Meridian Police Department is leading the ongoing investigation and has not released additional information.
Authorities have asked the public to allow the investigation to proceed and said updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
