A 45-year-old man has died following a shooting Wednesday afternoon on Rocky Creek Road in Macon, according to local authorities.
Leon Jones, the Bibb County coroner, identified the victim as Montago Maxwell.
Jones said the shooting occurred in the 1200 block of Rocky Creek Road shortly before 5:30 p.m. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, and Maxwell was pronounced dead just before 6 p.m., authorities confirmed.
Officials have not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident. No information about potential suspects or arrests has been made public at this time.
The coroner also stated that Maxwell’s family has been notified.
