According to investigators, Aguirre had been driving a 2005 Honda northbound when something caused his vehicle to veer out of its lane.
CHP officials stated that, for reasons that have not yet been determined, the Honda suddenly crossed into the southbound lane, directly into the path of an oncoming 2007 Nissan SUV. The collision between the two vehicles was forceful and left significant damage at the scene. Emergency crews responded quickly, but despite their efforts, Aguirre did not survive the impact. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene shortly after their arrival.
The driver of the Nissan, identified only as a woman from Apple Valley, sustained injuries in the crash. She was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
