Kerstin Walker Obituary, Death News – Authorities in Ohio are investigating a tragic hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a Georgetown woman earlier this month. The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 30-year-old Kerstin Walker, who passed away on Tuesday, November 11, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
According to officials from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) Georgetown Post, Walker was struck by a vehicle while walking along State Route 286 near Upper Five Mile Road in Sterling Township on the evening of November 5. The driver of the vehicle reportedly left the scene before emergency responders arrived.
Troopers said the collision occurred around 8:21 p.m. that night. After receiving reports of a person injured on the roadside, first responders located Walker lying off to the side of the highway with severe injuries. Medical personnel quickly assessed her condition, and due to the seriousness of her injuries, she was flown by Air Care to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Walker later succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators from OSHP have been gathering evidence to determine what happened and to identify the vehicle and driver involved. At the scene, troopers recovered a vehicle side mirror believed to have come from a Chevrolet or GMC full-size pickup truck. Based on this discovery, authorities believe the suspect’s vehicle sustained visible damage to the passenger side and may be missing a mirror.
The investigation remains active as officers continue to analyze evidence, review surveillance footage from nearby homes and businesses, and interview potential witnesses who may have been traveling along State Route 286 that evening. Troopers are urging anyone who saw a pickup truck matching the description or noticed suspicious activity in the area at the time to come forward.
In an official statement, the Ohio State Highway Patrol expressed condolences to Walker’s family and emphasized their commitment to finding the driver responsible. “This is a heartbreaking situation for the family and for our community,” the statement said. “We are working diligently to gather all available information to ensure accountability.”
Residents of Sterling Township and surrounding areas have voiced concern and sadness over the incident, describing Walker as a kind and energetic young woman who had a positive impact on those who knew her. Friends have taken to social media to share memories and express grief over her passing, while also calling for justice and community cooperation in helping investigators locate the person responsible.
Local safety advocates have also used the tragedy as a reminder of the importance of driver awareness, especially during nighttime hours when visibility can be limited. Authorities are encouraging drivers to stay alert for pedestrians, reduce speed in rural areas, and immediately stop and contact law enforcement in the event of an accident. Leaving the scene of a crash is a serious offense under Ohio law.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol has set up a dedicated phone line for tips related to the case. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to contact the OSHP Georgetown Post at (937) 378-6191. Callers may remain anonymous if they choose.
Meanwhile, Walker’s family is being supported by relatives and friends as they cope with their loss. Plans for a memorial or funeral service have not yet been announced publicly.
Authorities say updates will be released as more information becomes available. For now, the focus remains on identifying the vehicle involved and bringing closure to the victim’s loved ones.
“This is an active and ongoing investigation,” OSHP officials reiterated. “We will not rest until all facts are known and those responsible are held accountable. Our hearts go out to the family of Ms. Walker during this very difficult time.”
