Pedro Hernandez-Meza, A 36-year-old man died following a two-vehicle crash on Arkansas 265 in Springdale on Feb. 20, according to a preliminary report from the Springdale Police Department.
Authorities said Pedro Hernandez-Meza of Springdale was driving a 2013 Kia Soul northbound when his vehicle collided with a 2003 GMC Sierra. Investigators reported that the GMC had been stopped in traffic while preparing to turn into a private drive at the time of the crash.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to provide assistance. Police said Hernandez-Meza was pronounced dead as a result of the collision.
According to the preliminary findings, Hernandez-Meza was ejected from his vehicle during the crash. Officials have not released further details about contributing factors as the investigation continues.
Two minors who were passengers in the GMC Sierra sustained injuries in the incident, police said. Their identities have not been released. Authorities have not provided an update on the extent of their injuries.
