The driver of the Ford F-250, identified as 73-year-old Jimmie Keathen of Pearl, tragically died at the scene. Emergency responders also attended to the passenger of the Ford, who was seriously injured and airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson for treatment. The passenger’s current condition has not been publicly released.

The driver of the log truck was not injured in the crash. Authorities say the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation, including the exact sequence of events that led to the collision.
