Andre Dieon Carter Obituary, Death – Authorities in Stockton have identified the driver who died in a single-vehicle crash on Sunday night that also resulted in injuries to several passengers. The San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the victim was 33-year-old Andre Dieon Carter, a Stockton resident. Carter, who was driving at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Stockton Police Department.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. near the intersection of Navy Drive and Fresno Avenue. Carter’s vehicle was carrying five passengers, including a 14-year-old boy, an 18-year-old man, a 20-year-old man, a 21-year-old woman, and a 26-year-old man. Emergency responders arrived promptly to assist those injured in the crash and provide necessary medical attention.
Three of the passengers were transported to local hospitals with injuries described as non-life-threatening. The remaining two passengers were treated at the scene for minor injuries and did not require hospital transport. Officials emphasized that all of the passengers were stable following medical evaluation and that no additional fatalities were reported.
The Stockton Police Department’s traffic unit is actively investigating the crash to determine its cause. Officers are reviewing the scene, vehicle conditions, and witness accounts as part of a standard collision investigation. Authorities stressed that the investigation is ongoing and that no conclusions about the cause of the crash have been reached.
As part of the response, Navy Drive was temporarily closed between Fresno Avenue and Tillie Lewis Drive to allow emergency crews and investigators to work safely at the scene. The closure also enabled crews to secure the area and ensure that medical personnel could attend to the injured without interference. Police later reported that Stockton Public Works responded to repair a nearby sewage line on Monday morning, which has contributed to ongoing lane closures and traffic adjustments in the area.
Officials have urged drivers in the area to use caution and follow posted detours while construction and investigation efforts continue. They also reminded the public to remain patient and follow guidance from emergency personnel working at the scene.
The Stockton Police Department offered condolences to Carter’s family and expressed sympathy to those affected by the crash. They highlighted the importance of careful driving and attentiveness on local roadways, particularly during nighttime hours when visibility may be limited.
Authorities also encouraged anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant information to contact the Stockton Police Department. Collecting accounts from witnesses is a routine part of collision investigations and helps provide a clearer understanding of the events leading up to an accident.
While the crash has raised concerns in the community, police emphasized that investigations like this take time and that all findings will be carefully reviewed before being released publicly. Updates on the investigation will be shared once additional information is verified.
