Terry Lee (Carter) Snuffer, aged 76, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She is remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and partner whose warmth and kindness touched many lives.
Born on July 27, 1949, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Terry grew up in Rockford, where she formed lifelong friendships and graduated from Rockford High School in 1968. She later married Philip Snuffer in 1971, and together they built a loving home in the Lowell community, raising their children, Sarah and Dennis. Their home was known as a welcoming place, often filled with laughter, friends, and shared memories.
Terry had a deep love for family life and simple joys. She enjoyed gardening, camping, and hosting gatherings that brought people together. She was also a passionate supporter of her children and grandchildren, attending events and celebrating their achievements with pride. Her love extended beyond family, as many of her children’s friends fondly considered her a second mother.
Following the passing of her husband Phil in 2006, Terry later reconnected with a longtime friend, Don Wood. Their bond grew into a beautiful partnership that lasted nearly 17 years. Together, they shared a love for travel and adventure, exploring different parts of the country and spending cherished time in Belize, where Terry embraced the sunshine, the ocean, and new friendships.
Terry’s life was centered on connection, compassion, and joy. She will be deeply missed by her partner Don, her children, grandchildren, sister, and extended family. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created and the love she gave so freely.
A memorial service will be held on April 17, 2026, with visitation beforehand. In her honor, the family encourages donations to meaningful causes she supported.
