Trent Booker II Obituary, Death – Authorities are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred Monday morning in Mobile County, according to information released by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

The crash happened at approximately 9 a.m. on Jan. 12 along Grand Bay Wilmer Road, near the intersection with Fort Lake Road. The location is roughly nine miles west of the Mobile city limits. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following reports of a serious two-vehicle crash.

ALEA officials confirmed that one person lost their life as a result of the incident. The victim was identified as Trent Booker II, a 34-year-old man from Mobile. Authorities stated that Booker was operating a passenger vehicle at the time of the collision.

According to preliminary information provided by ALEA, Booker’s vehicle was involved in a crash with a commercial tractor-trailer traveling along the same roadway. The tractor-trailer was being driven by a 33-year-old man from Gulfport, Mississippi. No additional injuries were reported in connection with the crash, and the driver of the commercial vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Emergency medical personnel responded quickly, but Booker was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officials did not release further information regarding the circumstances leading up to the collision or any contributing factors, noting that the investigation is still in its early stages.

Traffic in the area was impacted for a period of time as law enforcement officers worked to secure the scene and conduct their initial investigation. Motorists traveling through the area were advised to use caution and seek alternate routes while responders completed their work.

ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is leading the investigation and will continue to review evidence, examine the roadway, and gather statements as part of the process. Authorities emphasized that determining the cause of the crash may take time and that no conclusions have yet been reached.

Officials did not indicate whether any charges are expected, stating that such determinations are typically made only after the investigation is complete. No additional details were immediately available regarding vehicle conditions, road conditions, or other potential factors.

Law enforcement agencies extended their condolences to the family and loved ones affected by the loss. ALEA reminded drivers of the importance of remaining alert, following traffic laws, and exercising caution at all times, particularly on rural roadways where traffic patterns can change quickly.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities said more information may be released if it becomes appropriate. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has relevant information is encouraged to contact law enforcement as the review continues.

As officials work to understand what led to the collision, they stressed the importance of patience and respect for the privacy of those involved during this difficult time.
