The Cincinnati Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in Downtown Cincinnati.
According to a department news release, officers were dispatched around 12:39 a.m. to the 200 block of East 3rd Street following reports of gunfire. When officers arrived at the scene, they located an adult male who had been shot.
The Cincinnati Fire Department responded and provided assistance. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, authorities said.
Police have identified the victim as 29-year-old Tobias Hood.
Following the investigation, Cincinnati police announced the arrest of 28-year-old De’Angelo Robinson in connection with the incident. Robinson has been charged with murder, according to authorities.
Investigators have not released additional details about what led to the shooting. Officials also have not said whether the individuals involved were known to one another.
The area surrounding East 3rd Street was temporarily secured as officers processed the scene and gathered evidence. Police have not indicated whether there is any ongoing threat to the public.
