Tayeba Rezaie Obituary, Death – Authorities are continuing to investigate a serious traffic crash that occurred at the intersection of Lockwood Drive and Northwest Drive, involving multiple vehicles and resulting in one fatality.
According to investigators, an 18-year-old man was driving a Lexus southbound on Lockwood Drive when witnesses reported seeing the vehicle pass a RideOn Flash Bus shortly before approaching the intersection. As the Lexus entered the intersection, it encountered a Toyota Corolla that was traveling eastbound on Northwest Drive.
Police said the driver of the Lexus attempted to steer away from a potential collision with the Toyota. During that maneuver, the Lexus made contact with the front of the Toyota. After the initial impact, the Lexus reportedly became difficult to control, left the roadway, and struck a wooden utility pole nearby.
One passenger in the Lexus, identified by the last name Rezaie, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities did not release additional personal details out of respect for privacy and because the investigation is still underway.
Two other passengers who were also riding in the Lexus were injured. A 20-year-old woman suffered critical injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Another passenger, a 28-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries and was also transported to a hospital for evaluation.
The 18-year-old driver of the Lexus experienced minor injuries but did not require hospital care, according to investigators.
The driver of the Toyota Corolla was not injured in the crash and did not need medical treatment. Police said that individual remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after the crash to assist those involved, secure the scene, and begin the investigation. The intersection experienced temporary traffic disruptions while crews worked to clear the roadway and gather information.
Investigators are reviewing witness statements and other available evidence to better understand the sequence of events that led to the crash. At this time, no additional details have been released about possible contributing factors, and no charges have been announced. Officials emphasized that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
