Authorities in Hanford are investigating the city’s second homicide of the year after a woman was fatally shot early Monday morning.
Hanford Police identified the victim as 25-year-old Sully Elizabeth CortezNeri of Los Banos. Officers were dispatched to Northstar Drive, between North 11th Avenue and Aspen Street, following reports of an argument involving a man and a woman.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found CortezNeri lying in the roadway with a gunshot injury. She was transported to Adventist Health for medical care, but was later pronounced dead.
Police said detectives are working to determine why CortezNeri was in Hanford and who she may have been with prior to the shooting. Authorities have not released additional details regarding suspects or motives.
