Authorities have identified the woman found deceased inside a residence in Carlyle, Illinois, as 41-year-old Sadie L. Tull.
According to the Major Case Squad, officers were dispatched Tuesday morning to the 2100 block of Fairfax Street to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival, they located Tull inside the home with an apparent gunshot injury. She was pronounced deceased at the scene, officials said.
Investigators confirmed that the case remains active. In the first 24 hours of the investigation, the Major Case Squad reported following up on more than 60 leads. Authorities say they are continuing to pursue all available information as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding her decease.
A report by FOX 2 stated that 26 investigators have been assigned to the case, underscoring the scale of the response. Officials have not released additional details about potential suspects or motives at this time.
Law enforcement is urging anyone who may have information related to Tull’s death or her activities in the days leading up to it to come forward. Authorities emphasize that community cooperation can play an important role in advancing the investigation.
