The Huntsville Police Department has released the identity of a woman who died in a two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning.
According to police, officers responded to the collision just before 6:00 a.m. on February 28. The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes near the intersection of Interstate 565 and Research Park Boulevard.
Authorities report that 66-year-old Rochelle Ann Hollinquest of Birmingham was driving one of the vehicles involved. Police say her vehicle was stopped in a lane of travel when it was struck by another vehicle.
Hollinquest was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to officials.
The driver of the second vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released additional information about that individual’s condition.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. Huntsville Police have not provided further details at this time as they continue to review the incident.
