Authorities in Westmoreland County have confirmed the identities of four high school students who died following a crash early Saturday morning.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Derr Road in New Sewickley Township when a vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
The Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office identified the students as Rocco Zugai, 18; Kylee Nicole Korber, 16; Brady Hunter, 15; and Felicity Martini, 15.
Officials said a passing driver reported the crash to authorities. Emergency crews responded to the scene, secured the area, and located the occupants inside the vehicle.
The victims were later formally identified through forensic procedures, according to the coroner’s office. Authorities noted that the cause and manner of decease remain under investigation, pending further examination.
The Yough School District confirmed that grief counselors are available to support students and staff. Superintendent Anthony DeMaro expressed condolences, stating that the district is mourning alongside the families and community members affected.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
