Police are investigating a shooting that left two people dead and two others injured early Sunday morning in Cincinnati’s Northside neighborhood.
According to the Cincinnati Police Department, officers were dispatched around 1:40 a.m. to the 4000 block of Hamilton Avenue, just south of Blue Rock Road, following reports of gunfire in the area.
Authorities said the shooting occurred near the Spotlight Lounge nightclub. Investigators have not confirmed whether the incident originated inside the business or outside in the surrounding area.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located four individuals with gunshot injuries. All four were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Police later confirmed that two of the victims died at the hospital. They were identified as 23-year-old Quiade Daniels and 32-year-old Vermonte Blair. The remaining two individuals were reported to be in stable condition.
Following the incident, law enforcement secured and blocked off a significant portion of the area while detectives collected evidence and canvassed for witnesses. Officers remained on scene for several hours as part of the ongoing investigation.
At this time, authorities have not released a suspect description. Police indicated that the investigation is active as they work to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting.
Officials are urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident, or who may have information that could assist investigators, to contact the Cincinnati Police Department.
Police emphasized that additional details will be released as they become available. The case remains under investigation.
