Virginia State Police report that a 90-year-old woman from Lynchburg has died following a crash on US-460 in Campbell County.
According to officials, the incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. on February 25 at the intersection of US-460 and Scotts Farm Road. State police said a 2020 Honda Ridgeline pickup was traveling west on Richmond Highway when it crossed into the median, causing the vehicle to overturn several times before coming to rest on the eastbound side of the highway.
The driver was identified as 90-year-old Phyllis Matroni Profitt. Authorities confirmed that she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials stated that the circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation. No additional details regarding contributing factors have been released at this time.
