Officials in South Carolina have identified a 21-year-old man who died following a collision involving a dirt bike and a vehicle in Orangeburg County.
The Orangeburg County Coroner confirmed the victim as Nickolas Washington of Rowesville. The crash occurred Friday evening along Highway 178 near Boyd Road.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Tahoe traveling east attempted to turn left into a driveway when it came into contact with a dirt bike operated by Washington.
Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and transported Washington to MUSC Health Orangeburg for treatment. Authorities later confirmed he died from injuries related to the crash.
Officials have not released additional details regarding the circumstances, and the incident remains under investigation.
