The Elkhart Police Department has identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred Monday morning in Elkhart.
Officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Morton Avenue shortly before 8 a.m. Upon arrival, they located 19-year-old Marco Antonio Lopez Terrazas outside a residence with gunshot injuries. Police attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but he was later pronounced deceased.
Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting. The Elkhart County Homicide Unit is leading the investigation and continues to gather information.
