A man from Las Vegas has died following a truck crash in Lander County, Nevada, officials report.
The Nevada Highway Patrol responded to the incident around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on US-50, approximately four miles east of Austin.
According to preliminary findings, a Freightliner truck without its trailer was traveling eastbound when the driver failed to navigate a right-hand curve. The truck crossed the centerline, went off the roadway, struck a sign, and overturned onto the left dirt shoulder.
The driver, 48-year-old Kelly Arthur Brinkerhoff, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash. No further details have been released at this time.
Officials remind drivers to exercise caution on rural highways and curves to help prevent similar incidents.
