Authorities have identified the victim involved in a fatal plane crash in Whiteside County. According to the Whiteside County Coroner’s Office, the victim was 27-year-old Justin Wiggins of Dixon, Illinois.
Officials said the crash involved a small private aircraft and occurred around 3:10 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Thome Road and McNeil Road. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where Wiggins was pronounced dead.
The circumstances surrounding the crash have not yet been fully determined. The Illinois State Police are leading the investigation and are working to establish the cause of the incident.
