The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Monday morning in Sterling.
Authorities report that deputies responded around 12:30 a.m. on March 2, 2026, following reports of a shooting at a residence. Upon arrival, officers located one deceased individual.
The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Jose Francisco Guerra Caceres of Sterling. Preliminary findings indicate the incident was domestic-related, involving the victim and a family member.
The suspect, 26-year-old Francisco Javier Guerra Villalta, also of Sterling, was found deceased inside the residence from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Officials emphasize that this was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
