Authorities in Richland County are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon, resulting in the death of an 18-year-old man.
The Richland County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the victim has been identified as Jordan T. Miller, 18, of Columbia. The shooting took place in the 7300 block of Monticello Road around midday.
According to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded around 12:15 p.m. to reports of gunfire near Triumphant Praises Church International. Two men with gunshot injuries sought assistance at the church during a community event.
Investigators later arrested 20-year-old Anthony Boyd in connection with the incident. Boyd faces charges including murder, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, authorities said.
