According to the Acworth Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting around 2:42 a.m. on Saturday outside the Saddle Bar. When police arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound in the parking lot and immediately began providing aid.
The victim was later identified as 28-year-old Jordan Jones, who worked as security at the bar. Emergency responders transported him to Kennestone Hospital in nearby Marietta, where he later died from his injuries. Investigators say the incident began when Jones attempted to intervene in a confrontation involving a man and a woman. According to police, the situation was initially de-escalated. However, authorities allege that after the dispute had been broken up, the suspect retrieved a firearm and shot Jones.
Police identified the suspect as 25-year-old Daniel Di Vonne Parsons. Authorities confirmed that Parsons has been arrested and is facing several charges, including felony murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery. The case remains under active investigation, and officials say additional details may be released as investigators continue reviewing the events leading up to the shooting.
