The Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a shooting early Tuesday on Syracuse’s North Side.
District Attorney William Fitzpatrick identified the victim as 25-year-old Jesus Delgado of Syracuse.
According to the Syracuse Police Department, officers responded around 12:15 a.m. to the 100 block of Lawrence Street after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found Delgado in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders transported him to Upstate University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting. The investigation remains active as detectives work to determine what occurred.
Police are asking anyone who may have information related to the incident to contact the Syracuse Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. Officials say tips from the public could assist in advancing the case.
