GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. — Authorities have identified the 19‑year‑old woman who died last Friday in a traffic collision involving a large commercial truck, the Mississippi Highway Patrol said.
The crash occurred at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Friday, January 23, on Highway 63 in George County. Troopers responded to the scene of a two‑vehicle crash involving a pickup truck and a Freightliner 18‑wheeler truck.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol reported that Haylee Churchwell, 19, of Lucedale, was driving the pickup northbound when it crossed the center median and collided with the southbound truck. Churchwell was taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries.
Officials say the crash remains under investigation as law enforcement works to determine the full circumstances.
