A pedestrian who died while attempting to cross Interstate 57 in Sherwood on Feb. 19 has been identified, according to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police.

Authorities said the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway. Investigators reported that 37-year-old Dyshawn Hart of Little Rock was crossing the interstate when he was struck by two vehicles — a 2013 Toyota Tundra and a 2019 Freightliner.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, and Hart was pronounced dead, officials said.

An earlier version of the report posted on the Arkansas Department of Public Safety website had temporarily listed the victim as “John Doe.” Authorities have since updated the report to reflect Hart’s identity.

Officials have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the crash. The incident remains under investigation as troopers work to determine the full sequence of events.

Drivers traveling along Interstate 57 are reminded to exercise caution, particularly during early morning hours when visibility may be reduced.

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available from the Arkansas State Police.
