Three Adults Die in Tragic Clear Spring House Fire
CLEAR SPRING, MD – A devastating house fire in Clear Spring, Washington County, claimed the lives of three adults early Tuesday morning. The blaze, which resulted in a triple fatality, occurred at a residence located on the 13800 block of National Pike on November 18, 2025.
Firefighters from the Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Company were immediately dispatched to the scene upon receiving reports of the fire. When crews arrived, they found the house already heavily engulfed in flames, indicating the fire had spread rapidly before their arrival. The primary mission shifted immediately to search and rescue operations within the burning structure.
Tragically, during their search efforts inside the heavily damaged residence, three victims were located by the firefighting crews. All three individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene due to the extent of their injuries from the fire.
Authorities later provided initial identification of the victims, noting that they consisted of one adult male and two adult females, identified as Bri Mae and Brittany Nicole. The names of the victims, though released, serve as a solemn reminder of the profound and sudden loss suffered by their families and the local community.
Amidst the sorrow of the tragedy, a small comfort was provided by the successful rescue of two family dogs from the burning home. These two pets were safely evacuated by the responding crews and have since been transferred into the care of the local SPCA, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Due to the severity of the loss of life and the extent of the damage, a full and thorough investigation into the incident has been launched. Deputy State Fire Marshals are leading this inquiry, working to determine both the exact origin and the definitive cause of the devastating fire.
The investigation is receiving substantial assistance from other specialized agencies. These partners include a trained search K9, identified as K9 Quinn, and personnel from the Maryland State Police. This collaborative effort underscores the complexity and seriousness of the investigation, which aims to provide clarity on how the blaze started and why the victims were unable to escape. The scene on National Pike remains active as investigators continue their meticulous work of processing the site for evidence.
The entire community extends its deepest thoughts and prayers to the families and friends of the three victims—the adult male, Bri Mae, and Brittany Nicole—during this incredibly difficult time of profound loss and grief.
