Authorities in Long Beach are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and two others injured near a parking structure during a large public gathering over the weekend.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers responded around 3:30 p.m. Sunday to reports of gunfire in the 200 block of Pine Avenue. The incident occurred near the grand opening of Marathon Burgers, a restaurant associated with the family of late rapper Nipsey Hussle and developed in partnership with Snoop Dogg. A large crowd had gathered in the area for the event.

Police said officers were already heading toward the location when they heard gunshots coming from a nearby parking structure. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot injury and immediately began providing medical assistance until paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department arrived.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Authorities later identified him as 20-year-old Bryan Lofton. The identification was confirmed by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

Investigators also located two additional individuals near the scene who had suffered gunshot injuries. Police said those victims were taken to a hospital and are currently listed in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials have not yet said whether the victim was specifically targeted, and the circumstances that led to the shooting remain under investigation. Authorities are continuing to gather evidence and speak with witnesses who were present during the event.

Police have not released information about possible suspects, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Authorities are asking anyone with information that may help investigators to contact local law enforcement.
