Officials have released the identity of a woman who died following a two-vehicle crash in Hattiesburg on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Forrest County Coroner Lisa Klem, the victim has been identified as 55-year-old Brenda Mitchell of Purvis. Authorities confirmed that she was taken to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The crash occurred shortly after 1 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 49 and Old Highway 42. Emergency responders arrived at the scene following reports of a collision involving two vehicles.
