Authorities in Tipp City, Ohio, are investigating the passing of a local teacher following an apparent home invasion on Monday morning. According to Greg Adkins, law enforcement responded to a residence on Cunningham Court around 2:30 a.m. after a burglary was reported.

Upon arrival, officers found 37-year-old Ashley Flynn suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Flynn’s husband and two children were home at the time but were not injured. Police reported signs of forced entry, and no suspect has been identified.

Flynn was a substitute teacher for Tippecanoe Middle School, where she also served as the volleyball coach, and a former teacher within Tipp City Schools. She was additionally affiliated with Lifewise Academy, which held a prayer gathering in her honor on Monday afternoon.

The school district and academy remembered Flynn for her warmth, kindness, and positive impact on students, colleagues, and the community. “Our thoughts are with all who are grieving during this difficult time,” Tipp City Schools said in a social media statement.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident and are asking anyone with information to contact Tipp City Police.

Flynn’s passing has deeply affected the Tipp City community, which is honoring her dedication to education and the lasting influence she had on those around her.
