Authorities in Rockville have identified two individuals who died following a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning, according to police.
Rockville City Police and Montgomery County Police responded just after 3 a.m. on March 22 to the intersection of Norbeck Road and East Guide Drive after receiving an automatic crash alert. First responders arrived to find a heavily damaged vehicle off the roadway.
Officials confirmed that two passengers in the car were pronounced dead at the scene. They were identified as 24-year-old Abraham D. Huracaya Del Aguila of Silver Spring and 24-year-old Alexander J. Medrano Cangalaya of Rockville.
The driver, an adult male, was assisted from the vehicle by emergency crews and transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Authorities say he is expected to recover.
Preliminary findings from the investigation indicate the vehicle, identified as a gray 2025 BMW M8, was traveling eastbound on Norbeck Road when it lost stability. Investigators reported that the car crossed the center median and struck roadside features before continuing through the intersection.
Police say the vehicle then collided with additional objects and ultimately came to rest in a drainage trench after leaving the roadway. Officials have not released further details about factors that may have contributed to the crash.
