Authorities in Colorado are investigating a plane crash that claimed four lives early Friday morning near Emerald Mountain, outside Denver. According to a preliminary report from the Federal Aviation Administration, an Epic Aircraft E1000 went down around 12:20 a.m.

The Routt County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that four people were found deceased at the scene. The Routt County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as Aaron Stokes, 47; his son, Jakson Stokes, 21; his nephew, Colin Stokes, 21; and Austin Huskey, 37.

Stokes was a longtime Middle Tennessee resident who lived in Franklin with his wife and four children. He was widely known in the local business community as the founder of EuroFix, an automotive repair company, and Shop Fix Academy, a business development program designed to support auto repair shop owners.

According to information shared on the company’s website, Stokes began his career in automotive repair after a personal experience that sparked his interest in the field. He later opened his first repair shop in 1999 in a one-car garage near downtown Franklin.

Over time, the business expanded. Within five years, EuroFix moved to a larger location, marking what the company described as a turning point for future growth. Today, EuroFix operates five locations across Middle Tennessee, including Nashville, Franklin, Murfreesboro, Belle Meade, and Mount Juliet.

On the company’s website, Stokes is quoted as saying he started the business with limited resources but a clear vision to improve the customer experience in auto repair. The company credits his leadership and commitment to innovation as key factors in its development.

Stokes also founded Shop Fix Academy after other automotive business owners began seeking his guidance. The program was created to provide coaching and education to shop owners aiming to grow and strengthen their operations.

Following news of the crash, tributes have appeared on social media from colleagues, clients, and members of the business community. Thomas Andrews, identified on the Shop Fix Academy website as a coach, shared a message expressing his condolences and reflecting on Stokes’ impact.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The FAA is leading the inquiry, and additional details are expected to be released as the investigation continues.

Authorities have not provided further information at this time.

Community members in Middle Tennessee and beyond are remembering the lives lost and offering support to the families affected by the tragedy.
