Officials identified the driver as 46-year-old John Waylon Miller of Rapid City. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.
Preliminary findings indicate that Miller was traveling eastbound in a 2007 Toyota 4Runner when the vehicle did not successfully navigate a curve in the roadway. Investigators say the vehicle left the road and entered a ditch before crossing back over the highway and overturning.
