Shreveport police are investigating a crash that occurred Friday at the intersection of North Market Street and Interstate 220.
According to authorities, two vehicles were involved in the incident. Officers responded to the scene and identified one of the drivers as 89-year-old Louise Methvin, a resident of Timber Lane, as confirmed by the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office.
Methvin was transported to a local hospital with injuries initially described as non-life-threatening. However, officials later confirmed that she died.
Investigators say that, at this stage, her decease is not believed to be directly linked to injuries sustained in the crash.
The circumstances surrounding both the collision and the subsequent death remain under review. Authorities have not released further details as the investigation continues.
