Detectives with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 22-year-old man earlier this week.
According to authorities, the victim has been identified as Corvarius Taylor. Police say he was injured on March 19 while traveling to visit an ill relative.
The incident occurred near the intersection of South 6th Street and Fatherland Street. Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area and located the victim, who had sustained a serious injury.
Taylor was transported for medical treatment but later died from his injuries, officials confirmed.
