Officials in Berks County have released new details following the discovery of two individuals found deceased inside a Cumru Township home earlier this week.
According to the Berks County Coroner, the victims have been identified as 66-year-old Karl F. Kopil, the homeowner, and 65-year-old Theresa G. Grube, who also resided at the property.
Authorities say the two were discovered Tuesday evening inside a residence on Church Road by family members of the homeowner. Emergency responders were notified and arrived at the scene shortly afterward.
The coroner confirmed that both individuals sustained gunshot injuries. Two dogs were also found deceased inside the home, according to officials.
Autopsies were conducted on Thursday, and preliminary findings determined that gunshot wounds were the cause of decease for both individuals. However, the manner of death has not yet been officially classified, as investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
