According to the Cold Spring Police Department, officers responded around 7:07 p.m. to reports of a pedestrian struck along the 5400 block of US-27 northbound.

The victim, identified as 42-year-old Ivan Chandler of Newport, was found with serious injuries at the scene. He was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment, where he later passed away.

Police have not provided details on why Chandler was on the highway at the time of the crash. Officials confirmed that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with investigators.
