The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office has identified the six individuals involved in a deadly shooting that occurred Saturday evening in rural Edinburg.
According to authorities, the incident took place around 7:51 p.m. on the 10500 block of State Highway 107 and stemmed from a neighbor dispute. Deputies responding to reports of gunfire found multiple people with injuries from gunshots.
Three victims were pronounced dead at the scene: 41-year-old Valente Trevino, 36-year-old Eliazar Gabriel Martinez, and 33-year-old Jacklyn Marie Ortiz.
Three others were transported to a local hospital. Among them, 34-year-old Juan Luis Guzman later died from his injuries. The remaining two victims, 35-year-old Marco Antonio Quintero and 25-year-old Datrell Dezman Fleming, remain in critical condition.
Officials reported that investigators collected firearms, casings, and ammunition at the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that the investigation into the shooting is active, and authorities continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
