Donald W Truesdale, Kershaw County Fatal Crash Involving Two Vehicles Under Investigation.

Authorities are investigating a head-on collision in Kershaw County that resulted in one death and one injury. The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that the crash involved a 2010 Honda Civic and a 2011 Honda Accord near the intersection of Timber Creek Road. The collision occurred on Old Stagecoach Road, roughly ten miles north of Camden.

According to SCHP Master Trooper William Bennett, the Honda Civic was traveling south when it was struck head-on by the northbound Honda Accord.

The driver of the Civic was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Donald W. Truesdale was identified by Kershaw County Coroner David West as the victim.

The driver of the Honda Accord was transported to Prisma Health Richland for treatment. Authorities have not released additional details about the extent of their injuries.

Investigators from SCHP’s Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) and the Kershaw County Coroner’s Office are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the crash. Officials are examining factors such as roadway conditions, vehicle information, and other relevant evidence to determine what led to the collision.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol emphasized that the investigation is ongoing. Residents and motorists in the area are reminded to exercise caution while traveling and follow posted safety regulations.
