According to township officials, the crash occurred just after 4 p.m. near Aiden Lane. Emergency responders from Jackson Police, Fire, and First Aid arrived quickly at the scene after receiving reports of a head-on collision involving a minivan and a pickup truck.
The victim was identified as Michael McDonald, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Jackson Police Lt. Edward Travisano said. Authorities confirmed that McDonald’s vehicle, a black Toyota Sienna minivan, was traveling northbound when it crossed over the double-yellow center line and collided with a Ford F-150 traveling southbound.
At this time, investigators have not determined why McDonald crossed the center line. Police have also not released information regarding the condition of the pickup truck driver, emphasizing that the investigation is ongoing.
