FULLERTON, Calif. — Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with a deadly incident Sunday evening that left one man dead in the city’s Euclid Street and Baker Avenue area, the Fullerton Police Department says.
Shortly before 8:52 p.m. on January 25, police received a 9‑1‑1 call reporting a serious incident involving a person who had been attacked on the street. When officers arrived, they found an adult man suffering from apparent injuries. Fire personnel also responded and provided medical aid, but the victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Responding officers quickly shared a description of a possible suspect with nearby agencies. Buena Park police later detained a man following a separate traffic incident, and investigators with the Fullerton Police Department determined that the person taken into custody was the suspect being sought in the homicide investigation.
Police have identified the suspect as 27‑year‑old Francisco Soriano Jr., a resident of Fullerton. He was booked into the Fullerton Police Department Jail on suspicion of murder.
Officials say they will release additional information — including the identity of the victim — after family notifications and further review.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Fullerton Police Detective Luis Ramirez or to report tips anonymously through Orange County Crime Stoppers.
